Carolin Pierloz, responsible for People & Organisation at the start-up SOLAR MATERIALS, takes us on her journey to professional office equipment.

Hello Carolin, before you take us on this journey, what exactly does SOLAR MATERIALS do?

CAROLIN - "We are a start-up from Magdeburg that specialises in the recycling of solar panels. We develop technologies to recycle photovoltaic modules (PV modules) cleanly and economically.

By using physical-mechanical processes, we avoid the use of expensive and less sustainable chemicals. Our goal is the complete recovery of all raw materials."

What was particularly important for you in selecting your office equipment? 

CAROLIN - "We want to implement projects as quickly and uncomplicatedly as possible as a start-up. And that also applies to the topic of office equipment.

We're glad to hear that. Now that the new desks are in daily use, what feedback are you receiving from your employees? 

CAROLIN- "Upon your recommendation, we opted for the TÜV-certified Y-Line model. 

The operation of the desks is straightforward; our employees can adjust the desks to their individual preferences precisely and save profiles if desired. And in combination with the sit/stand stool UP, everyone can decide whether to work standing or sitting.

Additionally, the desks have a sufficiently large work surface where even large work materials can easily find their place.

It's also great for us that with the, in my opinion, timeless design, we remain completely flexible in the design of our office spaces and can thus use the furniture sustainably.
